| Mercury Brewing Donates Over $10,000 in 2007
|
For the first time ever, the Brewers Association announced U.S. craft breweries' charitable contributions, and for 2007 they are estimated to be more than $20 million with Mercury Brewing Company having donated over $10,000.
"Our donations go to non-profit groups located in Ipswich and the surrounding communities," said Rob Martin, President of Mercury Brewing Company. "A majority of our beer and soda sales come from these communities and as a small, locally-owned business it's important for us to support the community that supports us."
S.A.F.E. Studios, Merrimack River Feline Rescue Society, Redbrick Arts, and Ducks Unlimited are just of the few groups that we have already donated to in 2008. Read our press release for more information. |
| Celebrate American Craft Beer Week |
American Craft Beer Week (May 12-18), which is celebrated annually, highlights the industry and culture of craft beer.
Changed to a weeklong event in 2006, the inaugural American Craft Beer Week was recognized by the U.S. Congress with House Resolution 753 (PDF file). The week has continued to grow with interest and support from beer enthusiasts and the media.
Mercury Brewing Company encourages you to participate in American Craft Beer Week by supporting craft beer and your local brewery throughout the month of May. Why not become a beer activist? Or learn how to home brew?

| Craft Beer Sales Contine to Soar |
In what has become a true American success story, the craft beer market again grew by double digits in 2007, leading all other segments in the beer category. The Brewers Association reports estimated sales by independent craft brewers up 12% by volume and 16% in dollars for 2007. Craft brewers share of the beer category is 3.8% of production and 5.9% of retail sales.
Here at Mercury Brewing Company we have seen an outstanding increase of 37% in beers sales for 2007. 2008 promises to be another great year with first quarter sales up 26%! Read our press release for more information. |
| Beer & Food Pairings: Ipswich Original Ale |
|
With such a wide range of flavors and aromas, you can pair beer with food just as wine aficionados have been doing for years. Our Original Ale, an English style unfiltered Pale Ale, is medium-bodied with a subtle hoppiness and a smooth malty flavor that pairs well with with a wide range of food. For a classic English match, try it with meat pie, fish and chips, or even a simple savory Sunday roast. Burgers, chicken and pizza are also great matches. Don't overlook the simple things; our Original Ale will cleanse the palate between a sampling of different cheeses.
